The 373 C incorporates a new proprietary Boundary Compensation Control. This control compensates for the midrange coloration induced by first reflections off of a TV screen. By flattening the frequency response with this control, dialog becomes much more intelligible and the "boxiness" that is so common to center channel speakers is significantly reduced. A THX position on the control is provided for "free air" THX operation. To further optimize performance, the center channel is fitted with a tiltable base, to aim the speaker at the listening position.
